Permanent Hair removal and skin transformations
about me
Hello everyone,
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! Let's dive into the somewhat awkward task of introducing myself. Here it goes:
Way back in 1998 (yes, it feels like eons ago!), I embarked on my journey in the beauty industry by earning my Level 3 qualification in beauty therapy from Pembrokeshire College. From there, I leapt straight into the world of pampering and rejuvenation, spending nearly three wonderful years at Ragdale Hall. After a brief stint back home, I ventured once again, this time to Calcot Spa and later The Randolph 5* Hotel in Oxford, where I continued to hone my craft.
But life has a funny way of guiding us down unexpected paths, and I found myself transitioning from the spa scene to the trade side of things as a key account manager and trainer for Aromatherapy Associates. .
As life circumstances shifted, I returned home once more, and this is where my journey took a delightful turn towards my true passion. It was during this time that my passion for skincare and electrolysis truly blossomed. I stepped into the role of Cluster Manager for Destination Skin in Cardiff & Bristol, where I had the privilege of offering transformative treatments that I wholeheartedly adore.
In 2016, my path led me to Bliss Beauty by Cerys, which became Bliss - Beauty, Nails & Aesthetics in 2018. I find myself today, working utterly fulfilled by the difference I can make for you through the treatments I offer. The joy I feel in knowing that I can bring about positive transformations for each of my clients truly warms my heart.
So here I am, fully dedicated to the art of permanent hair and blemish removal plus skin transformations, eager to embark on this journey with you and help you discover the beauty that lies within.
electrolysis
Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal. Our advanced technology means electrolysis is a super-quick and comfortable option for those longing for freedom from the daily de-fuzz.
It’s effective for all skin tones and hair types – including white, red, and blonde hair – and safe for sensitive areas and facial hair, with no bumps, or ingrown hairs… just total confidence.
And you’re in trusted hands; Emma has worked with women, men, and transgender clients to form a bespoke treatment plans so that you get the maximum results.

BEFORE Treatment
DO
Shave – if you are getting a dense area treated like the bikini or beard, shave the treatment area 2- 3 days before your first treatment.
Consult – be honest with your electrologist and disclose all health conditions during the consultation and if you experience any reactions or changes to your health during the treatment.
DON'T
Use Retinoids – steer clear of retinoids or any exfoliation products for a week before the treatment.
Pluck – remember we need the hairs there to treat so put those tweezers down!!
AFTER treatment
DO
Soothe the skin – aloe vera is recommended and can be applied as necessary.
Reduce inflammation – by using cold compresses.
Shave – if you need to remove hair after the initial 72 hours, avoid all other forms of hair removal except shaving or trimming.
DON'T
Use perfumed or alcohol-based products – this can burn and irritate the open pores.
Rub or scratch – as tempting as it may be, this will increase the risk of infection. Don’t worry – it’s normal for some scabs and itchiness.
Sunbathe or swim – for 72 hours after treatment to avoid pigmentation or irritation from chlorine.
Sweat – at least excessively. Enjoy your time off from the gym!
How does electrolysis work?
A tiny needle is placed within the hair follicle and an electrical current is used to destroy the root of the hair preventing the follicle form being able to produce any new hairs
Is it painful?
There is a slight ‘sting’ or hot sensation, but it is bearable and there are numbing creams available from the pharmacy which you can apply pre treatment.
Is it Safe?
Yes electrolysis is very safe. It is the ONLY medically approved form of permanent hair removal supported by the British Medical Association. As with most treatments there is a slight risk of infection or scarring. These risks are very low
How many sessions will I
need?
The number of sessions will depend on the individual, the hair type and the treatment area size.
Strong terminal hairs, like the chin, can take longer to lill completely.
How quickly will it work?
On average it takes 12-18 months of regular appointments to clear an area. However, this is completely dependent on the individual as hormones, medical conditions, PCOS, previous hair removal & stress all factor within the results.
Am I Suitable?
Electrolysis is effective for people with any skin type, skin colour, hair type, and hair colour. Electrolysis is also suitable for any area of the body. As long as the hair is visible, the hair can be successfully treated.
